Since joining the 80:20 network in December 2005 I have been fortunate enough to work very closely with some exceptional business people from across the whole of the Midlands area. However, most of my clients tend to be located in and around the North Birmingham area, including Tamworth, Lichfield and Sutton Coldfield. We look after a wide variety of SME business’ from sectors as diverse as Manufacturing and Fabrication, to Hotels and Public Houses, Importers, Serviced Offices and Life Coaches. All of our clients have one thing in common, and that is the realisation that good control of their business finances is paramount to their future success. Furthermore, they have also realised that as small business owners their strength lies in ‘working ON the business, not IN the business’ and that is why they have appointed us to deal with the day to day running of their finances, letting them concentrate on what they do best. Located out of offices in Tamworth town centre (see map below), I am ably supported by Angela Mercer, who joined us in September 2008. Angela is a fully qualified bookkeeper with a wealth of accounts experience, and a keen eye for detail. As a member of both the Southern Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and also the SucceSS initiative I have been able to build up good working relationships with a number of local Business Bank Managers, Solicitors, Accountants and IT professionals to name but a few, and this network has proved invaluable for my clients who often tap into it.
Outside of 80:20 financial management I enjoy playing rugby, and have played for several different teams throughout my career, such as Loughborough University, Moseley, Birmingham-Solihull, Walsall and now my home town club of Tamworth. More recently I have taken up surfing as a hobby. However, living in ‘land-locked’ Tamworth isn’t really helping me to get any better!
