Nick is an experienced Finance Director to SMEs, a business consultant and a chartered accountant with more than 20 years’ experience working in entrepreneurial environments. He brings a wealth of board level experience from the management consultancy, communications and marketing industries and has a strong track record in helping to launch, grow and sell businesses. Following qualification as a chartered accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Nick worked for the Australian Government on the set-up of a $200m public sector project in Sydney in the early 1990s. Returning to the UK he joined the board of a rapidly expanding loyalty publisher and, following significant success, was head-hunted to take on the FD role at a boutique PR agency with a remit to drive its development towards sale. Leading a restructure and implementing a cost management review saw profits increase from £50k to £250k in just one year; enabling successful sale to the Abbot Mead Vickers Group in year two as targeted, with a deal that realised the owner just under £2m on the sale. Prior to joining 8020 Financial Management in early 2011, Nick’s last project was the launch of Teachers TV for the Department for Education. He managed the project team, developed the service vision, model and specification, creating a business case, managing the procurement, overseeing contract negotiations, developing KPIs and subsequently managing the contract and its suppliers.< |
